I happened to watch Bommallattam and Slum dog Millionare over the weekend and yeah i personally feel that both are over - hype about movies .... first the tamil one ...
En Inya Bharathiraja ... kept his intro short and sweet ... no wonder ... The movie was how should i put it ... well i was just not impressed at all ... OK so the story and the skills that Nana and the new "actress" rukumani brought to the table were the only positive aspects about the movie ... other than pretty much everyone else sucked .... NOT even in one movie did the dialogues and the lip-moving synced ... for the longest time i thought that there was something wrong with my dvd player and that the dialogues were delayed ... BUT NO ... not in ONE place ... it was supposed to be a tamil movie ... but felt like a telgu dub ... and the awfullest thing was "nizhalgal" Ravi's sucky little voice for Nana ... What the hell were u thinking BR ... i mean actingukkum and pechukkum samandhame illa ... but of course i cannot be a total hater ... the dancing of Ruku and some of the visuals were spectacular ... but not enough to save the movie ... and ARJUN what was the point of u being in the movie ... me thinks once again HYPE factor ...
NEXT -- Slum Dog Millionare ... i dont want to rain on anyone's glory.... techincally sound i mean the kids and the slum and the photography done with great skill ... but simply once again for the hype it has created i thought ... well i thought wrong ....
People that are reading this and going ... athu seri ... u will watch Kandaravai padams and ur talking about good movies like this ... the POINT is ... when I watch Villu or Padikathavan ... i kno what to expect ... hehehehe .... i expect NOTHING ... just 3 hours well wasted ... so all the hype creation is pissing me off ... next in line is Abhiyum Naannum and Poo ... I have some hope for Poo ... Abhi me not so sure .... i think i would rather settle for "dindugul Sarathy" !!!!
