Pookal Pookum Tharunam ....

Finally watched Madharasapattinam today .... although appa had sent to Florida for me to watch ... never got around to it ... firstly cos , i had heard the story and was in not in a particularly welcoming mood to watch a romantic movie and also watching it on a 55 inch wide screen TV with surround will NEVER stand up to a 15 inch laptop screen with an sony sound cancelling headphone... that is reserved for movies such as மிளகாய் , விருந்தாளி and பையா (although i am starting to really digg Karthi --- a separate post is needed for that)... none the less .Today was the day:

Just Prelude .... I loved the movie and the reason is multi- fold... first I HEART ARYA !!! From the days of Arinthum Ariyamallum (theepiddikka Theepiddikka) really lit the fire for me :)) 2nd - I love period films especially ones that are made well , meaning people take the time out to focus on the smaller things they want to show on screen that i believe the director Vijay has really gone out of the way to make it work !

The Actors were all awesome ... especially special mention to Ms.Jackson ... kudos to her ... for someone who has no knowledge of the language ... her lip sync was almost perfect with her expressions ... ( maybe its time some local northie actress better take notice of this..... ahem sharan !!!)

The Backdrop of  India getting Independent mixed in with a ROMANCE rocked!!! makes you want to ...want to ... I shall leave it at that ...

But most of all mr. ந.மு  kicked ass i must say ... after ஒரு கல் ஒரு கண்ணாடி and  அவள் அப்படி ஒன்னும் அழகில்லை and என் காதல் சொல்ல ..... பூக்கள் பூக்கும் தருணம் is just beautiful !!!

Every single line touched the right spot  ... if it didn't for you ... sorry but you don't have the right spots :)

Take five mins today and listen .... it will touch you too..
