SO as soon as the movie was picked up at the movie store Appa and Me got the dirtiest look from amma -- What the hell is this movie ??? The same bhajanai we usually get for watching "kachada" movies -- we are used to it by now. But she tries her best to "meanmai" paduthify our senses not that its likely to happen any time soon ...
So after a whole lot of conviencing by me saying things like its got good reviews and etc... and Satyan anna certifying it as a "comedy padam" -- Laadam came home with US !!!
Once that occurred I was absolutely terrified the movie was going to SUCK big time ...so didn't even mention that we needed to watch it after a week of it laying around ..the timing had to be perfect ..meaning no matter how bad the movie SUCKED ... she shouldn't blame us for it ... the easy way out would have been to watch it with out her around ... But not that it was going to happen any time soon.. But alas good graces "graced" us ... i got Violently ill ... two/three trips to the doctors , heavy blood loss and heavier dose of pills later -- though SEVERE was the SAVIOR too ... I was asked to rest and not do anything of any importance ... this was the chance ... I politely suggested that we watch movie in my Time of rest ... and given the trauma that she had gone through with me being sick... watching this movie didn't seem that bad ...and since the sicky had suggested it ..it went over well .... BUT surprise of ALL surprises the movie was GOOD ...so getting violently ill in the first place was not warranted ... but still life is such ...
Now to the movie ... a young man after a lot of trials and tribulations crushes the Bad guys ... though the plot seems old the narration was interesting... funny till the very end. The movie was a fast paced comedy/sanda padam !!!!
Shows how much an individual needs to be pushed around in order to stand up and fight for his/her happiness !!!
No unnecessary fights or show of heroism -- even in the end ... one can feel the provocation that the Protagonist feels !!!
Well placed songs except for the "ocean" song ...
Charmee was good ... funny and decent acting skills ... three cheers to her
New find Aravind also deserves applause for his ability to perform ... great characterization ... An all out Directors Movie ... no Question about that ...
surprise element was the music for me especially -- "Siru Thoduthalile" great song ..
Siru Thoduthanile - Haricharan , Bombay Jaishree
I recommend the movie ... a good entertainer with a "happy" ending ... good knows we all need one ... even though It happens only in Movies ...
PS: As Shen told me the other day ... Love ain't NO TAMIL MOVIE !!!
PPS: Thanks Shen for keeping me Grounded !!!
