Finally watched பூ -- had been looking forward to watching this movie ... and what treat ...
Appa and me watched it ... as always ... And it touched him more than it did me ...
Half way thru the movie
Appa: சா ... பாவமா இருக்கு ... மாரியா பாத்தா !!!

It was nice to see that the movie could make one feel really attached to the characters not just Maari, or Thangarasu ... but with Maari's அண்ணன் , Thangarasu's அப்பா , சீனி , Maari's புருஷன் and even the foreman at the factory ... no one with real ill- will but just the practicalities of ones life ...
The story is pretty starightforward ... a young women in love with her mama's son.. ever since she was a little kid and in the end ... doesn't end up marrying him ...
But the nuiances with which the charcters have been etched and the sequences weaved together makes the movie a great one ....
I wouldn't call Maari's love .. just that love ... its beyond that its this affection you have for someone and their well-being ... Its this பெஒப்லே more than anything else ... not wanting to even have one single bad thought (after knowin' that he won't marry her) in case it might come and haunt him .... simply touches ones soul ....
The beginning sequences in which we witness the immense mutual love between a newly wed couple ... the friendship between Maari and Cheeni ... the seqence when the foreman explains his acts ... well done ...
And to have such logical reasoning by Thangarasu to say No to maari and accept his dad's wish ... well tohught out ... and of course how can everything be hunky-doory ... in the end to have her heart broken into a million pieces and WHY ? cos the one person who you want to see live Happyily Ever After ... not doing so ... devastating ... cos you have moved on and are living well in order to make sure that the other person does so too ...

The movie also had simple comic scenarios that were finally tied together with the rest of the movie and infact the TWISHT ... so yeah .... I recommend it to everyone ... esp. to people that like to watch good tamil movies ...

In addition it made me also think about how I would feel if me and SM don't end up together ... well ... as with the realities of one's life ... one would move on ... and hope that the other person is living life to the fullest and happiest ... and you do the same ... with no ill - will ...
